Rachel Humphrey

 

The Universal Freight Organisation (UFO) was founded by Rachel Humphrey, who has been involved in the development and management of international freight forwarder networks since 1998.

 

Rachel's career history includes working as Editor on the British Tourist Authority's official monthly guide London Planner. 1.2 million copies of the magazine were dispatched each year around the world for onward distribution to London-bound visitors.

 

Previously, Rachel worked for 5 years at the Centre for International Briefing, running international business courses and assignment briefings for expatriates going to live and work overseas. Customers included the Ministry of Defense, Unilever, Shell, Motorola and the Sheraton Hotel chain among others.

 

Rachel also spent time working in the Marketing Department of a large American engineering company, Rust Kennedy and Donkin, park of the Parsons Brinkerhoff Group, an engineering consultancy employing 14,000 staff in more than 150 global offices. The company provide services for all modes of infrastructure including; power, energy, water, mining and the environment.

 

At the beginning of 1998, Rachel started working for a UK based Freight Forwarder Network where she organised and attended both Board and Annual Meetings in USA, Brazil, Italy, Vietnam, UK, Thailand, Netherlands and Russia. Rachel enjoyed this experience and in January 2000 launched the Universal Freight Organisation. Rachel has since hosted 12 Annual Meetings in Spain, France, England, Netherlands, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, Mexico, Cambodia, Greece, Hong Kong and the Dominican Republic.

 

Rachel's main goal was to build and maintain a strong alliance of companies that work together to provide the highest standard of service to customers in accordance with her Membership Rules and Code of Conduct. Today, UFO is an ISO 9001:2008 certified network of companies, actively working together in over 120 countries. UFO is a Founder Member of Elite Association of Logistic Networks (ELITE), the industry's only recognized grouping of quality independent freight forwarder networks.

Judith Mellett

 

Judith joined the UFO Head Office on a full time basis in June 2009 and handles the day-to-day running of the UFO Head Office and ensures that all our systems are up-to-date and working correctly.

 

Judith has assisted at 10 freight networking events in the UK, Spain, Malaysia, South Africa, Mexico, Cambodia, Greece, Hong Kong and also brings valuable experience having also spent 6 years working with a UK based shipping company.
